Nona Shahriari

An independent author, novelist and filmmaker, Nona Shahriari creates narratives in which women’s experience is not reduced to a message or a simplified opposition.

Her two films focus on women’s choices, inner lives and emotional relationships in Iran. The male characters are not reduced to the expected figure of the traditional or conservative man: relationships are observed through difference, vulnerability and transformation.

This non-reductive writing of women’s experience and the couple is what led Amir Sharifi to produce these two stories.

Made before ARTELOGIA was founded, the films are now accompanied by the platform in their circulation.
